30-40-60 min programs introduce attendees to the wonder of ancient and enduring arts deeply steeped in women's traditions dating back thousands of year.  For example.... we might explore

- Graceful hand gestures ~ An introduction to a vocabulary of ancient hand gestures known as 'mudra' (used in Hindu and Buddhist ceremonies and statuary, and in Indian dance) which can improve circulation, relieve arthritis pain, and help to resist carpal tunnel. Enjoy the benefits which can be practiced sitting, standing, or walking, any time/place ~ stuck in traffic, at the office, watching TV.- Graceful hand gestures ~ An introduction to a vocabulary of ancient hand gestures known as 'mudra' (used in Hindu and Buddhist ceremonies and statuary, and in Indian dance) which can improve circulation, relieve arthritis pain, and help to resist carpal tunnel.  - Hip articulations ~ An introduction to a vocabulary of hip movements deeply steeped in women's culture dating back thousands of years from circular to up and down to forward and back movements, which, by the way, can improve hip mobility and flexibility, balance, coordination and posture.

 - Shoulder shimmers ~ Belly dancing involves sophisticated moves that involve isolating one or more muscles to achieve fluid yet rapid action that takes concentration and control. For example, learn to separate, simultaneous articulations as you roll, tighten and release your shoulders.  Feel the rush of new energy streaming through your neck and shoulders and down your arms as you shimmy and shimmer!

 - Scarf flirtations ~ Not unlike the (nearly) lost language of the fan (which was used to communicate unspoken sentiments across a room), flirting with a scarf acknowledges the attractive qualities within another person for the general entertainment and delight of both parties. Think of the Hindi expression Namasté that closes out every yoga session.  Namasté: I bow to the divine within you. Flirting says: I wink at the divine within you.
